The truck I currently have doesn't have an engine/trans in it, but I've got a line on a better on that has the original still in it - I'm probably not going to use it anyway, so I'll hang on to this thread and let you know.
I would suspect that you would have to lengthen the front end to make it fit. A 460 is a tight squeez.

How tight a squeeze is a 460 in a 56? What needs to be done ? Years ago I put a 390 in a 53 F100 and had lots of room. Now I am considering putting in a 429/460 in my 56 M100 and would like some info before deciding on a 429/460 or a 351 windsor.
