need trans code& axle code
i put my 86 f250 back together .the trans code is f.the axle code is 29.the spring code is b6.i dont know what these codes mean.
any help would be appreciated

rear axle identification
Okay, my rear diff door code is '25', and my transmission code is 'M'. And to get even more specific, my rear housing tag is as follows: 2 V 110 C 1 10 10 2 9C21. What do I have, and how do you guys know all this stuff? Is there a database somewhere or something? BTW, it's a 1989 F250 4X4. Thanks.

Code 25 is a 4.10 ratio. Looks like your axle has an open differential. The axle should be a Ford/Sterling 10.25" semi-float, although I think some of the numbers listed may be mis-copied from the axle tag. Axle codes are listed in the 'tech articles' section of this website under 'axle decoders'. Not sure on the trans code, sorry.
