Is $130 for 8 COP's a good deal? For this price would it be a good idea to change all my COP's when I change my sparkplugs? Is a COP either good or bad? Or can they wear and still work but not function as good as a new one. Thanks for any info.
YES, it IS a good deal...I paid 75 bucks for 1 Motorcraft Coil, and even the lesser valued ones at AZone are 50 bucks...and the COP's are either GOOD or BAD...no in-between...don't replace 'em if you don't need to...but keep 'em in a cool, dry place if you buy 'em...the plug change is a little tough, but gets easier the more you do it. Take your time and buy BOSCH plugs which have a longer, threaded shank ...Autolite is lacking in this area and may back out after a few thousand miles (as they did with me). When this happens, the force of the plug coming out of the head will blow the ear of the coil off from the main coil housing. Of course, it can be repaired with JB Weld but is NOT worth taking the chance of this happening, especially if one of the back ones blows. When changing plugs, take a piece of garden hose and attach it to the top end of the plug to start the plug into the head by hand. Only when it seems tight do you put a socket on and torque. Good luck !!!
Yeah they're AC/Delco and they're selling out in like 3 hours on ebay. Some guy is putting up 3 available (set of 8) at a buy it now price of $130. My COP's are all working but for that price I almost want to buy them just in case. Here's a link to the one's already sold out. I emailed the guy and he said they are OEM AC/Delco ignition coils. Would I get a Check engine light if one was bad?
