00 e-250 5.4 strange starting problem
Hi,
Here's the situation. In the morning the van will not start until I tap on or shake the power distribution box near the coolant resevior. Furthermore if the hood is slammed the engine will shut off, so I have to close it gently. Today the engine died while I was driving about 5 mph through a parking lot. The fix ? You guessed it, tap the power distribution box. Could it be sticking relays ? Perhaps a bad connection somewhere inside of the box ? The previous owner removed his alarm system before selling the van. Are there any alarm system connections that would normally be made inside of this box ? Maybe the alarm installer disturbed something. I would appreciate any guidance given. I'm tired of making wild guesses and I really don't want this to happen on the expressway during rush hour.
