door hinge pins

Hi everyone,

Does any one know the size (diameter and length) of the door hinge pins (bushings also) in a 69 F250?. Parts places here no longer list parts for the old trucks and I need my daily driver. Thanks in advance.

Strange; the '70 F250 I drive has over 380,000 miles on it, and the hindges show less than 1/8 inch of movement at the handle end of the door. Are you sure that the area the hindges bolt to are not rusted out and allowing the door to sag?

If the hindge pin & bushings are worn out, and you are going to have to make a new set, it would probably be best to remove the entire hindge and have the new parts made to fit the old brackets. It will give a much better job in the end.

Thanks for the suggestion like M. Fords. I checked the whole structure first the only movement is the door, not the hinge attached to the cab. My door moves about a half inch due to the lower hinge pin. The pin may have rusted. Can't tell at this point. They sell pins and bushings online but I wanted to shop local to save time.

Cies.

Look local

You might try taking the hinge you have apart and taking the peices to the parts store with you, (if you own them take a pair of calipers with you), and see if they can match them.

Door Hinges

Are the hinges the same on F-100's? If so, check the junkyards.

the pins are only 1/2 the equation. They ride in brass bushings. Which also wear out. The replacement pins are still available from Ford. Part number B9A5943030AA. Length cut to fit.
The bushings were C3AZ5422841A. Which was replaced by C3AZ5422841B. Discontinued. QTY 2 per hinge. Below is a list of suppliers which show as having them. Try the ones showing the "A" original part number 1st. Since it is an older number they should be cheaper.
Green sales in OH shows 13-"A"s...800-543-4959.
Dennis Carpenter FORD in NC shows 10-"A"s and 166-"B"s...800-476-9653.
Manderbach Ford in PA shows 2 of each........610-929-3683.
McDonald obsolete in IN shows 1-"A" and 8-"B"s........812-359-4965.

There are more suppliers. Let me know if you need 'em.

If your door is sagging low, here is a Toothless Jake cob job:
Loosen bolts that hold hinge to frame. Pry bottom out until you have daylight. Slide shim between hinge and frame on the bottom. A little trigonometry will tell you the shim thickness to raise door strike. Grease her up, away you go.
