explorer blowouts

I just heard on NPR that the statistics for the Explorer tire blowouts show over 90% happen on the left rear tire. I have personally seen two cases like this come into the shop where I’m working and neither one was wearing Firestones. This concerns me because I have a posi explorer rear, which I intend to use on my 51’ ford pickup. Does anyone else have any information? I ‘m particularly interested in finding out about my limited-slip axles.
