I've got an 89 f-350 4x4 7.3 with a c6. I had the injection pump and all injectors replaced about 2 months ago. At the time, the tranny had been shifting a little wierd. Guy who did the injection pump said that the vacuum controller on the injection pump (for the tranny) was going out and that I would need to replace it soon. So, over the last couple of months the shifting has been slipping more and more going into second gear from first. A couple weeks ago I over revved the motor and broke a roller off of a lifter. I finally got the top of the motor put back together today, take it for a drive, and the tranny won't shift into second gear... it just revs up a bunch and then goes to third. Soooo, I replaced the vaccum controller and no difference. I replaced the vaccum modulator on the tranny, no difference. I disconnect vaccum line from the tranny, and it about breaks your neck going into second. Without vaccum hooked up second gear is great. With vaccum hooked up I don't have second. I am stumped! I did a vaccum test and I have great vaccum (I also just replaced the pump a couple months ago). Any body have any ideas?

BTW- it still does the same thing even if I manually shift the tranny into
second.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
