t5 tranny
anyone have any experience with a t5 tranny behind a 390? will it work? what bell housing do i need? rear end ratio?
anything would help. i am having trouble finding a t19 as suggested.....

What are you hoping to gain - over drive? Advance Adapters makes an adapter to mate a NV4500 (found in 96+ Dodge pickups) to a FE (352, 360, 390, 428) belhousing, so it uses the Ford clutch linkages and all you have to fabricate is the trans mount and driveshaft. Search this forum, its been discussed in great detail in the past...

Max torque rating on a T5 is 330 in trannies found behind 5.0 Mustang motors.
That is quite a bit short of what a 390 puts out, ain't it?
Also, ratios are for cars, 1st might be quite tall in a truck, depending on your diff and tire.
I'm considering one behind my 300, but haven't done all the homework yet.
