I'm a new member ,but, my truck has a 62 hood, 62 long stepside bed(so ugly, it looks good)1/2 ton .1963 doors and fenders 3/4 ton,1968 390 engine and 3/4 ton running gear, power sterring pump out of a 80 something and power steering assist out of a 70 something.I've put it together and tore it down 4 times now.Either I'd find better parts,Are someone was running in to it or the hood was flying open or the cab and clip was being dropped by an old auto crane. I think I'm finally going to be able to do the little bit of body work now. What an ordeal !
i saw and printed a poste in here about taking stock of what you got and then making a plan of attack. it was verry good info of corse like every thing its lost in the black hole that is my garage. lol
Today I went to a local junk yard and invested(60$)and installed an electronic ignition in the knucklebuster(truck's name). made a lot of difference !
Also will I was there I found a competion carter 4 barrel,Alum. high rise ,headers, chrome vavle covers and a old but really nice chrome air breather cover.($200).Things are looking up for the old truck. Also, have a possi-track rear end with 456 gears and detroit lockers to install that I picked up for $50 in oregon last year.I also have a 292 v-8 that was running fine untill I started stripping the truck last week.Don't need the engine!
