m5od-02 question
help! im in the process of swapping the mazda trannys and just noticed that even thought the replacment tranny was coming out of the same yr a 1991 the tail shaft is differant because it doesnt have the opening for the speedo cable so i thought i could just swap housings with the old one but inside it doesnt have the gear for the speedometer or the groove for the lock ring if i was to swap the gears from the old one..i dont have any idea how to swap any of the shafts so any ideas as to how to hold the plastic gear in place has anybody run into this situation ??please help the truck has been sitting for over 5 months and i need it to start school in less than a week and i dont have alot of money ..so any ideas would be appreciated ive even thought about super glue or j b weld to hold it in place...help and thanx tim
