This is a very minor subject, but what type and size of screws or bolts hold the rearview mirror in place?
To make this a little more interesting I picked up a new stainless rearview mirror and base from Bob Drakes yesterday, along with one new stainless bezel parking light (he didn't have two). It all will look nice. I also noticed in his loose leaf binder that he has headlight bezels in stainless, both ribbed and smooth. It is all pricey though.
Mike, on my '46 that still had the factotry mirror, the screws were regular philips pan head sheetmetal screws, about 1 1/2 long, very similar to the screws that hold the molding on around the inside windshield. But I'm not sure of the size of the screw, sorry.
Gary, thanks for answering such a minute subject. I guess yesterday, and today for that matter a fatigue point was reached and I was looking for help, any help on anything. Mike
Mike, I made a mistake on the screw used (too many things going on to think clearly). It's a oval head philips, a number 8 size according to Ford, should be about 1.5 to 1.75 inches long.
