gas guage not working
I've got an 83 f-150 w/ a 302. It has dual tanks, but the second isn't a factory one. It's filler neck comes up inside the right rear wheel well. The gas guage doesn't work, period. There is a switch underneath the dash, but it doesn't switch the tanks. Should I start looking for a bad connection or a new sending unit?

What was the status before the guage quit working... did the guage work for both tanks or just one? and were you able to run off both tanks?
I would think if everything worked and then you were just stuck on one tank with no guage that it would be electrical. I'm by no means an expert...

You might try removing the connector from the sending unit and shorting it out with a paper clip. It should go to full when shorted out. If it does, time for a sending unit. If it doesn't, you have an open circuit some where. Hope this helps......VC
