Need some input on this, Today I found an 88 F-250 2wd with a 460 in a junkyard. The guy sold his land and is getting ready to crush out. Supposedly the engine was OK but needed a timing set and when previous owner put in new set he broke the timing cover and didnt finish the job. Junkyard guy wants $200 for entire truck, but the distributor, front pulleys engine oil dipstick and alternator are missing (that I can tell right off) Is truck worth the price????Keep in mind that I was wanting the entire truck for the fuel injection setup.
i think so. part it out what you don't want and then sell the frame and sheetmatel for scrap. figue you can get maybe $75. for the rearend.at least $75 for the trans. then sell what ever else . i think you could make a little money off of it even. thats what i would do
No, I was going to use the 88 engine. Didnt the 460 change along the years somewhere that would prevent the injection setup from being utilized on an older carbed engine??
well thats what i thought.but i wasn't for sure.so i thought i would ask to see if it was true. maybe somebody tried it or knows exactly why it wouldn't work.
