I currently own a 1989 2-wheel drive Bronco II. I love it. I have been running 30X9.50X15 on the stock rims for the last four years with no problems. It can be done so go do it if you want that extra little punch... Time for new tires and I would like to know what rims from what sort of vehicles bolt up to the same bolt patterns. I am planning on going to a junkyard and robbing some rims off of a Ranger or possibly an Explorer but need to know what years to be looking for and what models will work. Any ideas? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Some aaaaaaa.... Jeep rims will fit too.All Gen 1 and 2 84-93 Rangers and BIIs will fit and Gen 1 91 -93 Explorer will work.BII till 90 last year for them.
on a 4.5 5 lug u can get anything from a dodge 5 lug, a ford bronco II or ranger, any year, and also you can get rims from jeeps with 5 lug, im actually about to get some rims from a jeep, but u can also go onto ebay and find lots of wheels, there's some good deals i almost got some eagle alloy 15x10's on there for brand new for $325 for all 4, i checked local prices and they want $112 per wheel hope this helped ya
GrayRanger4x4 & RomerB2, those both helped a lot! I have a few more questions that hopefully will help Gunnerdx as well.
I only recently bought my Bronco II and I am pretty sure its stock ( no lift ). It has P215/75 R15 Dunlop A/T Radial Rover tires on it now. I would like to get some where in the neighborhood of 30 to 32s on there. Will I need to lift it before I get my new tires? This maybe a no brainier but you will have to excuse me its my first truck
The other thing is I found this site and I have been considering getting this lift kit. Please let me know what you all think? Will I need the lift before I get the tires, and rims if necessary?
Nomad you can run 30.9,50 on a stock BII with a little rub at full flex .If you want to go bigger you will need to lift it,either a body lift or a suspention lift,or you can cut your fenders till they dont rub .Hope is helps.
i have 265 75 15's on mine and i can turn full flex with no rubbing at all, i have no lift at all either and i still have about 2 inches from top of tire to wheel well, i just got me a digital picture so you guys will be seeing my crappy b2 lol, its not in bad shape tho i like it, but u always love what you got and love what you dont have more.. but i've been thinking about a 3 inch lift but i think im gonna go with a 7 inch, make it look manly, put those eagle alloys on there with some 33's and maybe a wheel spacer on the back to even the front and rear hangout on the tire, should look pretty beastly, anyways have fun with your b2 make it big, dont be gay and lower it like some people out there, i admire them for spending that much time on their vehicle and flush mounting stuff and everything but u can go overboard with that stuff, i think u should look over people not look up to them, anyways have fun
I just purchased GoodYear MTR 30X9.5X15 and put them on the stock rims. They look really mean and there is absolutley NO rubbing. My suggestion to you is go for it!
dosnt it look kinda funny tho? all that tire with no lift? i mean on my 265's it looks pretty good from the front, it has a nice stance, but if you were to lift it 3-4 inches, it would look awesome, no body lift tho, if you got some wheel spacers for about an inch more in front and 2 inches out in back, it looks really nice, just dont be like those guys that have a full size f-150 with the entire wheels stick out past the body, thats gay, but a little bit out there to make it look meaner with the lift, makes it look awesome
Actually, it looks good. I am assuming the tread design of the MTR’s helps. Lift is next on my list but will have to wait until spring. I have to take care of the grinding noise (probably the CV joint) first. There is a thread going on here in this forum about replacing the old driveshaft and CV’s with a standard driveshaft and universal joints. I am still trying to learn about this and the potential cost of this before making rash decisions on the lift.
Also, I have a 2WD Bronco II and I contacted James Duff about a suspension lift. They stated that since I had a dummy transfer case in my 2WD that the 4WD suspension lift would work. Do you know anything about this?
which stage lift are you going to get? from what ive heard, most of the 2wd's have a dummy transfer case, does anybody know why? but on the suspension lift's there shouldnt be any conflict between 4wd and 2wd lifts, its all suspension, with a drop pitman arm, springs, maybe a spring spacer, and blocks for the back or add a leaf, u should go to the suspension forum they can help out a lot
