First look at your cd changer. If it has the gray eject button use the F5TZ number which does not have the sliding trays for each disc.
If your cd changer has a orange eject button, then you need the YL1F part number which does have the six sliding trays.
I thought the newer orange button cd changers came out sometime around the '98 models. I'm not positive on that, so it might be wise to check your cd changer first.
NCKRACER,
Thanks for the reply, but think you may have those reversed, at least you said it reversed back on 10-03-04, your quote from then below.
"The F57F-18C833-AB and the F87F-18C833-AB both fit the early CD changers with the Orange eject button.
The YL1F-18C833-AB fits the later CD changers with the Gray eject button. This later cartridge has movable trays and will not work in the earlier models."
Which way is correct? grey with Y and orange eject with F?
I've heard several people say the grey buttons are for the 2000 expy (and mine is a grey 2000)and the rest of the info I found is below.
"LINCOLN NAVIGATORS2000 - 2002
FORD EXPEDITIONS2000 - 2002
MAY FIT OTHER YEARS AND MODELS
THIS IS FOR THE FACTORY CD CHANGER IN THE CENTER CONSOLE STORAGE BOX.
THE NUMBER ON THE LABEL IS:
YL1F-18C833-AB
IF YOU HAVE A CAR MENTIONED ABOVE AND THE CD CHANGER WITH SHORT GRAY EJECT BUTTON ABOUT 1/4 OF AN INCH THIS IS THE ONE YOU NEED.
THERE ARE TWO KIND OF CD CHANGERS WITH GREY EJECT BUTTON. IF YOU HAVE THE ONE WITH THE LONG EJECT BUTTON ABOUT 1/2 INCH PLEASE E-MAIL ME OR LOOK AT MY OTHER AUCTIONS ( F8VF-18C833-AE )."
thanks for your input.

I've been meaning to ask this, but I've been pretty busy. I've put aside looking for a CD cartridge, but I figure I should get on the ball and find one. Pardon the ignorance, but does the CD changer pick up CD-R, CD-RW, and mp3s? Since I don't have the cartrigde yet I am not able to know.
I would imagine it would play cdr's as most cd players I've had in the past 8-9 years have played cdr's, but not mp3's as only players released in the past 2 years have had that capability, as for cdrw’s you’ll have to try and see but my guess is no.
mojo,
You are correct, I replied incorrectly in my second post.
No problem nckracer, just wanted to make sure I didn't have them incorrect, as I'm about to purchase one, and wanted to make sure I got he right one. thanks <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
You are correct. I just bought a YL1F-18C833-ABon ebay for 20 bucks (that's shipping included). They said they work in alpines(so it should work fine in my 2000), but I was told the the fords had clarions, but I think that was the 97-99's.
Okay, let me just make this a little more confusing-- Does anyone know where I might find a replacement for the above cd changer (not the magazine, the whole unit) other than Ford? They want $300 for a replacement for mine that has given up the ghost.
Does anybody know the Ford or Clarion part numbers or model numbers for the 6-CD changer for a 2000 Expy with the premium sound system? Mine just quit (says the magazine is empty) and I'm looking to replace it. I'm assuming the DC625 or DCZ625 would do it, but I'd rather not have to waste time and money exchanging the wrong parts. I've been all over the forums and searched and I just can't find this info.
i notice that ornage eject button are on 1995 to 97 and in some trucks and sable, taurus
