Vacuum Lines
I have experienced several vacuum lines coming off and am having to use hose clamps to keep them in place. On the drivers side toward the rear of the engine is a vacuum line cluster assembly that had three come off and another one came off on the passenger side. A former Ford mechanic friend asked if the auto trans is low on fluid. He said if it is check a vacuum line going to the trans and temporarily remove it to see if any fluid drips out. If there is fluid, he described a part that could be defective allowing ATF to get into the vacuum system causing some of the vacuum fittings to come off. The problem is I can't remember the part he mentioned and haven't had a chance to talk to him.

He was talking about the vacuum modulator. If it goes bad fluid can run up the vacuum lines. One of the vacuum lines leads to it on the transmission. remove this line to see if atf is present. If you start the vehicle it may even squirt out. The modulator itself is on the trasmission. replace the modulator

I'm in the middle of that exact repair on my '94. The modulator on mine is located on the passenger side of the transmission behind a heat shield directly above the catalytic converters. I found it to be a VERY tight location to try to work. Maybe you'll have more luck than me, but I removed the converters to preserve my sanity. I prefer to have more than 1/2" of space to work in.

btw, I checked at several chain parts stores for the valve. Several of them said it was a dealer item, but I found one made by Fram for around $10. You'll probably need to replace the vacuum line as well.
