any tips on these? my 02 got the front end blues and i gotta change them tonight.are these clipped in the diff cover? or will they slide out thru the wheel opening? any info will be appriciated!
u joints are going bad.chattering bad,especially when you hit a bump at moderate speeds. its the left front.i got 58000 miles on the truck,replaced the hubs earlier the spring.roters and pads at the same time i did the hubs.
no . tore her down tonight,u joints look fair,will replace them anyway since there out.didn't get to the outer bearings yet,will look at them tommorow night.lots of fun pulling the axle,ruined the seal comming out.oh well!
Joints should be fine My 99 has originals. both seals prob have to be replaced. Check the needle bearing and axle where it rides on it. And of course the hub bearings..

Tell him to be careful putting the axles back it the front ,remember the inner seals way inside the front diff ,alot of people don't know that they are there, an damage them sliding the axles back in.
Yes the needle bearings or front wheel bearings will cause the symptom (of rumble strip) chatter when hitting a bump.There should be no side play or harshness in the hub bearings.
