I HAVE A 1995,302, FULL SIZE Bronco.There are a few problems that I have.
First:I have to replace the throttle cable and I would like to attempt this with my son and myself and I need some help as I never did this before. My mechanic told me that I should be able to do it with no problem.
Second; Recently when it is started the RPM'S go way up.This doesn't happen all the time but when it does I have to shut it off and try again to bring it to normal idle.A friend mentioned that there maybe a sensor that controls the RPM.Again can I do this myself or should I have a Mechanic.
Thank you.

First time posting.
The cable is easy to replace. Takes about 10 minutes. The pedal end requires no tools...jsust push the plastic retainer back and lift the cable off of the pedal. push the cable through the firewall, pry the end off of the throttle body and done.
There is a sensor on the throttle body I believe it is called the TPI. (Throttle position sensor) I have had to remove mine and cleaned it a couple of times but each time it helped. This could be one issue. The cable could also have other probs and could fix the high RPMs.
Change out the cable first and see where you stand after that.
WELCOME TO BRONCO LAND!
