Which Model has the most problems?

Hi Everyone, just curious as to which model F150 has had the worst reviews here in FTE. My guess is probably the XLT but not 100% sure and would like your help in gathering this info. I tried to search the threads to see if this topic was discussed (which I'm sure it probably was) but came up with allot of junk.
Aloha, Derek

But for some suspension upgrades on the FX4, these vehicles are virtually mechanically identical to one another. Therefore, the vehicle trim level that is most common will also seem to be the most trouble prone, but won't be any more or less reliable than the others. Don't know if the poll results will be of any great value to you.

To add to what Paul said, think about this: there are more items to go wrong in a Lariat when compaired to an XL that has no options, so you might get higher numbers for the Lariat just because it has more things to go wrong, period, than a lower model does. For example...I could say my XL has no problems whatsoever, but it also doesn't have power windows, power locks, power sunroof, power seats, dvd player, etc. Just my 2 cents

Paul, thanx for the input, I see your point but I was trying to get a base-line of who was having the most complaints per trim level. I believe I've seen some post in the past stating that the lariat and FX4 was done a little differently then the others. also, been noticing more XLT's having the dreaded vibe. although I could be wrong I was hoping to see what the numbers were but as you can see, no one is really wanting to participate in this poll so it was a complete waste of time on my part. for those (2) who did, thanx a bunch! for the (80 or so) that stopped by and passed on thru, thanxs for doing nothing too. sorry for wasting all your time.

I can't tell you the problems on the other trucks. I can only tell you what things were wrong with my 04 FX4 which were not many problems at all.

Not necessarily. Nobody will vote if they're not having any problems with their truck, right? I didn't vote because my XL is great, and i don't have any experience with any other trim level so it would be unfair to vote for any of them. Maybe you could read the ones with no votes to mean that nobody has problems with these trims. Hope this helps.

EJ/Boom, I totally agree with you guys, I guess I should've worded it differently but what I was hoping to gain is exactly what you guys gave me back in hopes others would do the same and reply and say "No problem with my trim" or just click on the poll as to what trim level you are experiencing the problem with. and so on. I hope you understand what my intentions were. No Foul done, was just curious is all.
The Lariat that I ordered was due in 8-2 but ship was delayed for some reason.... I'm just looking for information on what I should be looking for when it does arrive.....it's going on 4 months since I placed the order and while reading the posts here on problems, I am a bit concerned. But for the most, I've noticed more satisfied owners then I did unsat here at FTE with a few questionable people that believe all Fords are alike. I would like to state that this will be my first F150 and hope there will be more in the future!

Aloha, D

I agree maybe worded differently. I enjoy answering the poll questions and then seeing the results. I have had problems but very few and minor. The only one that is concerning me is the clunck in the rear end when I start out in the morning. Had it at the dealer when I got the PCM reflashed and they couldn't find anything wrong. I will probably leave it overnight then have them drive it first thing in the morning. All in all I am very happy with my first full sized pickup.

I've read this forum for many months now and am basing my vote on memory. It seems the 4x4 have had the most complaints. But I still maintain the overall % of these trucks are working out great for the majority of people. Mine seems to be driving better all the time.

FX4 SCREW 3,000 mi. Have the clutch pack problem with my rear. Went to dealer today he looked up the TSB and ordered the parts without a problem. Other than that, this is the best truck I've ever owned. I've had trucks made by every MFG. including the Toyota Tundra, which I thought was highly over rated. Had nothing but problems from day one. Everyone is capable of making a LEMON.

I can't vote...

I've had no problems and the poll choices don't include that option. Also, you didn't provide a "Chevy" option!

Keep in mind that if you were to get enough votes to get some kind of idea, you have to compare that with the sales popularity of each trim level. If nothing else, you would expect the most popular trim level to have the most problems. I think XLTs are the most popular, and SuperCrews make up over 50% of sales. So one would assume an XLT SuperCrew...

However, my FX4 SuperCrew simply rocks. [Owned since March]
