Fuel System Problem
New to this. I have a 2001 4.6L Supercrew with 42k miles. I just changed sparks and fuel filter to try to solve a problem that just recently started on my truck. I believe poor gas caused this. Anyway, the truck is stumbling when I put the gas to it. It almost feels as if the truck is shacking. Do you think it could be the fuel injectors are clogged? It idles fine and I can rev it in park no problem. problem is when I drive it. It's almost like sputtering. Could it be the fuel pump and why does it only do it in drive when the gas is applied. It's driveable but rough and I don't wanna put my foot down or accelarate to fast. Help!

Is the check engine light on? If so, you need to get the code(s) to be able to pinpoint the problem. Did you get the recomended (stock) motorcraft sparkplugs or something else? The stock plugs are pretty much the best on these engines.

The check engine isn't on, and I used bosch platinums for the sparks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to hook it up to the computer and pay that fee. I guess I will if noone can give me a cheaper fix! Thanx

If you have one Autozone will read your codes for you for free. If you don't try the other auto parts stores and see if they will.
Also search on this site for other posts on those plugs. I think I've read where they were a problem on some engines. Could be wrong but don't think so.
