mazda 5 speed
Im in the process of changing my mazda 5 speed and i just noticed the replacement tranny also a mazda came out of the same year truck even but it doesnt have the place for the speedometer cable..its a solid area...can i just take the housing off the original tranny or do i have other things to change such as the plastic gear for the speedo?should i replace the rear seal while in at it? and i know to use merkon in the tranny but what do i use for the hydraulic clutch and how do i bleed the system...please help and thanx....tim

What year is your truck? Is this a Ranger or F150? The later F150s have the speed sensor in the rearend housing. As for swapping the parts, If the sensor is in the tailshaft section, you can probably just swap the whole tailshaft assy.(?) And yes, you will need to swap the plastic gears and maybe the output shaft? (Not real sure, haven't had one apart).
