Angry Heater Issues

I have a '96 Ranger 2.3L and the heater will not switch to panel or floor. All I get is defrost. I tried the easiest thing first and replaced the function switch on the heater control and that didn't solve it. The only other two possibilities I can think of are that somehow I lost both of the airdoor vacuum control motors or I have a vacuum leak somewhere. Any Ideas?

Yeah, sounds like you lost vaccume to ths control.mine did the same thing so I spliced in a bypass vaccum line with a inline check valve and it works great now. You could track the problem down if you had a vaccum diagram, maybe ford would let you look at theirs. At the controler, where the vaccum lines plug in you can unplug them an see if the black one has vaccum on it with the truck running. If there is no vaccum thats the problem, not the vaccum solinoids.

Defrost is the no vacuum setting, use a vacuum pump/gauge to track it down.
