Just wanted to share an annoying experience I had today. This afternoon I was leaving the mall with my girlfriend and was driving down the main street in our town (which is 4 lane) when the truck shuts off. No power, gauges gone, nothing. So I try to coast it to the side of the road, you know, rocking back and forth against the steering wheel.... Get out and pop the hood to see the battery became unanchored. I looked closely and saw that the negative post was MELTED to the right post on the solenoid. I pulled at it, but it was as good as welded. So I start to get mad. People driving by saw me with one foot against the bumper, and both hands on the cable trying to rip it free from the solenoid. So anyways, it lets go. The solenoid I mean. I ripped it from the fender, and landed flat on my back on the pavement.
So the girlfriend is cowering in the cab as I curse and swear at the top of my lungs, and storm off to a Sears store to get the parts. Naturally leaving her there to "guard the Bronco."
Lesson learned. Side posts suck, and make sure the battery is secure!
Felt I should make another addition. Was at my friends shop tonight replacing the front calipers on the Bronco. I was putting the lug nuts back on with the impact gun when the hose popped off, exploded off I should say, and nailed me right where it hurts the most. Needless to say once I was erect again, I beat the hell out of my buddys arm for not knowing how to attach a hose to an air tool.
