I just got a 96 Ranger, V-6, 4-cyl. I am taking care of a couple of small things but one has me stumped. I need a new interior dome light assembly. Nobody seems to carry even a substitute. My local junk yard doesn't have any 96 rangers in stock either. Now my question is can someone let me know of a web site who sells the assemblys or can someone let me know which other year rangers I can look for at the junk yard. Thanks.
Nope, I already took care of that problem. I am just missing the whole assembly. I believe it was broken and the guy who had the truck before me removed it and never got a new one.
I think 95-98 will be the same assembly,I would go to the salvage yard and look around, there's bound to be one.Be careful when you pull the cover off,it pops loose from the back first.the one for your truck is a smooth rounded unit, not square like the older ones.Be sure to get the screws out of it too, they are a certian length so they don't ground out,one screw connects power from the door switch and headlight switch, one connects power constant for the map lights and one is ground.these three screws have to be connecting or it wont work.
