Anyone installed a Brake Controller on one of the 04's that did not come with a tow package? Is the wiring under there somewhere for a Harness hook up, so I could just buy the Brake harness from Ford, and the relays?
just right or inboard of teh brake pedal , (but mounted near teh plastic knee bolster) is a white or grey open connector for the brake controller harness. then a relay gets installed in the fuse panel on the right hand side.
With no factory tow package, a new premium brake controller like a Prodigy will still plug in directly to the factory Ford harness. Even with no factory tow package? Sounds too good to be true. I've already purchased the Ford tow package wiring kit for the rear and the bracket to mount them in.
Anyone accomplished the painless install in a new truck?
