No start after engine rebuild STUMPED???

I can't get this durn thing to fire..crank..and ..crank... I get nothing. Did the h bal at 10* btdc rotor pointing at cyl #1 on compression stroke. I even tried starting fluid to see if it's a fuel problem..still nothing, plugs fire OK. I am stumped. Any ideas on what to look for after a rebuild? Did I forget to hook something up? Any tests I should do?

Need more info. You running fuel injection or carb? The most common problem with a rebuild non- start is putting the distrubior in off a tooth. Check to make sure you dizzy is in right. Make sure you have fuel pressuere. Check spark at all cylinders.

I have fuel injection. After my original post I took 2 plugs out after cranking and both were dry. I do have fuel pressure at the rail. It appears the injectors are not receiving a signal. Is there some connector I should clean? I also sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body and still nothing I had hoped for at least something to happen.

My 93 lightning has a ground wire at the back of the block at the rear of the intake manifold on the pass side.I don,t know if yours has it or not but make sure you didn,t miss any ground wires. I hope this helps. Carl

Go through and visually inspect all your electrical connections. The main connector for the engine harness to the vehicle harness is on the driver side fender well.

I think you should get some reaction by spraying starting fluid into the intake. Maybe you should double check the distributor, sounds to me like it is out a tooth.
Good luck,
TR.
