I placed power steering inmy 68 ford f150, the steering column is from a 72 f150. Everything fits fine except...The colors of the wires are different in the 68 that run the signal lights etc.Can anyone tell me what colors go together. I have ordered wiring diagrams for both years so may have to wait until i get that to finish.
You'll find that you pretty much need to use the switch from the proper year. Not a big deal to switch, just need to pull the steering wheel.
I've tried this in my '70 years back and no matter what you did, one or the other light would not work right. I purchased a '70 switch and installed it. It all worked great then.
I don't know why they did this to these trucks...seems it would have been easier to make them the same thru all the years??? Guess they had a "new" engineer every year
