They are identical. They are also interchangable.
You should put them back on the side they came from along with the matching pushrods and other valvetrain stuff to maintain the correct valvetrain geometry.
For a new installation, here's how I decide. Place both heads on the ground. Find a feather. Standing between the heads, drop the feather. Whichever one the feather floats toward, that's the first one you install.
