I have a 95 Explorer. Recently the car won't idle after restarting while the engine is still warm. I can put the car in Drive and pull away if I work the gas pedal, otherwise the engine won't start or idle without giving it gas. Once I put a couple of miles on it the problem goes away and the engine will idle properly.
I installed a jumper wire on the computer and read the codes on the dash light. The codes are 33 and 133. I didn't see a separator code flash. The time between the 33 and 133 was about 6 seconds.
Code 33 is EGR not opening. I have three manuals and none of them list a code 133. Does anyone know what code 133 means or know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks,
The Single Flash is the Seperator Code . The Ecu will display the trouble code twice . So you got a Code 33 . You may have several things not funtioning . First check that the valve is actually opening , you can verify its moving by entering the KOER self test . If you do see thats opening , Test the Evp Sensor , It may have failed & even though the egr valve opens the Ecu doesnt detect this due to the failure of the Evp .
