trans?????
one of my friends just got a 88 f150 with a l6 and a c6 trans the question is when you put it in 1 or 2 its fine and shifts but when you put it in drive it goes back to first and wont shift up, the modulator has already been replaced. any ideas as to what it could be

Thats right, a stuck governor can also prevent upshifts. But if a governor is stuck, the only thing I have found that will stick a governor is trash in the oil. Trash in the oil usually indicates a transmission failure already or very soon. Possibly an overhaul in the near future.
