torque spec lug nuts

I had problems with my brakes for about 3 weeks, they were squeaking so I thought it was the squeakers.I bought pads to replace them but when I got in there the rotors were in bad shape so it got put back together, when it did my friend really torqued the lug nuts.Thursday I got the rotors and when we took it apart they were destroyed (all on the inside pad and rotor on both sides the outsides were both fine) now I'm convinced about the right torque on the lug nuts. Can someone tell me the torque spec for a 98 150 4x4 offroad 4.6.Thanks to everyone who helped and to anyone else that can.

The specs from the Haynes repair manual say 85-105 Ft-lbs.

As far as that causing the problem, I really doubt it. The calipers float on the guide pins, therefore they move with the rotor.

Over-tightening the lugs has no consequence other than possibly torquing off a stud. No matter how tight the lugs are, the roter will just be pressed against the hub that much harder. Since the calipers ride on the rotors, even if the rotor was a fraction of an inch farther in, the caliper would move with it.

It's better to over-tighten them than not have them tight enough! I wrecked a government van last November when I was hit by a tire that flew off of a Dodge Ram because the lugs weren't torqued down!
