Did you notch the cross-member? Just curious - that's the same thing I used... except the drag-link (mostly because I couldn't find a good one in the junkyard, so I'm not entirely sure I needed a longer one or not).
No I didn't the one thing I did have to modify was the inner fenderwell and length of the steering shaft to the box. The clearance from the pitman arm and frame is pretty tight but it's been working for about ten years now.
Everything I keep reading on this topic everyone is using the 78-79 steering box. I have all the parts out of a 84' 250 diesel. Can I use these parts or wont they work?

Yeah, fenderwell for me too, and length of steering shaft. No interference... I believe it was a '79 F250 box, it sure turns my 33" tires with one finger...
haten'chevs, you have to determine that for yourself probably. The '79 box is a known thing to do, way back from the 80's when I heard about it. But I still measured everything out, took out the old parts, lined up the new, measured, measured and re-measured... then fab the "box out" of the inner frame where the box goes. Even though it's a "known" thing to do, there's still an "art" to it...
