Exclamation Oli pressure sensor?

The oil pressure gauge in my truck has read good oil pressure up untill yesterday morning when I turned the truck on it didnt read any! Well I know it must have some cuz there there is no change in the way the engine runs and no funny sounds coming from under the hood. I figured it must be a sensor or something thats messed up because the gauge will bounce up and down and doesnt react with the throttle position.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is or what the part is called so I know what to ask the dealer for? Also where its located would be nice too
Thanks

It is an oil pressure switch and is located on the drivers side of the block in front of the oil filter housing on the V8's.

I had a car do this one time and it was just a bad connection on the oil pressure sending unit. They used a push-on type of connector onto a threaded shaft rather than using a nut.

You can sometimes remove the connector and squeeze it together a little bit if it feels loose on the sending unit.
