I've just ordered a 2005 F350 DRW CC and am curious what the proper break in procedure is. My 5th wheel is about 12,000 lbs loaded and would really like to know how soon I can lug it.
Second question: The truck will also be my daily driver. Since my work is about 5 minutes away, it hardly gets to warm up before I shut it down. Is this a problem? Any suggestions?
Gentle the first couple hundred miles with varied speeds and easy braking. I think the book says 500 miles before towing. Your diesel will not get up to operating temp if you are 5 minutes from work which isn't good, however, it is so much fun to drive you will probably find the long way to work. I would purpose to get it up to temp several times a week.
let it warm up for about 5 min before u take off with it. just get into the habit of it and do it a remote start would be a really good investment for u...
The book says no towing for the first 500 miles. That is what I did,
and then I drove it like I had stolen it, and I have not looked back
since. Good luck

Anyone know the cost of the remote start key fob shown in the Dealer Accessories section of the 2004 F-250/F350 brochure? Will it work with my 2004 6.0 PSD, CC? Also is there any other hardware required or is it just a fob?

I don't know about your traffic, but it can take me more then 20 minutes to go 5 miles. I have 22 traffic controlled intersections to go through, and most of them seem to be red lights when I get there Getting the engine warmed up just isn't a problem with my commute
