I have a 93 F150 Flareside 4x4 with 33's. I would like to upgrade the front brakes. Does anyone know if a 2 piston caliper from a 93 F250 would swap to my truck or does anybody know of a good place to buy brake upgrades on the net.
Just swapping the caliper will not work, as the rotors and knuckles are bigger on the F250. You could swap an entire front axle in, but then your truck would dive while braking, and you'd have to carry two spares. So you'd have to do both axles, which would cost more money that it's worth.
If it were me, I'd put quality brake parts on, and keep everything greased and inspected. That's your best bet, IMO.
I have upgraded my rotors/pads. I have drilled rotors in front and w/ the new pads it has helped a bit. My truck stops alright, but I need to get an adjustable proportioning valve.
Too much braking power is going to the rear tires..they lock up too soon when unloaded.
There are kits you can buy for these things that will just bolt right on i belive.
I know you can get them for chebby/GMC's.
My uncil wants one for his truck, i belive he has 33's. and thats too big for standard breaks on his truck.
