How hard is it to replace the brake pads on a 2000 P/S F 250 4x4. It is 50,000 miles and I think time to some work on them also the fuel filter. Thanks

I've done them on 80's and 90's vehicles and it was not too hard, and I'm just so-so mechanically inclined. Get a manual, the steps are usually pretty easy to follow. Check the rotors, that they're in good condition, and it would probably be a good idea to grease the bearings if they haven't been done yet. The bearings will be a little bit more involved, but mostly because it's more parts, grease gets everywhere, etc....
The bearings on a 2000 4x4 are sealed. No worries there.
Yeah, it's not that hard. The caliper comes off with two bolts. It pulls off, and then you just put the new pads in and re-assemble. Make sure the slides move freely, too.
If you want to take the rotors in to do machine work, then you need to pull the caliper bracket bolts off as well. These are 21mm, and you will need either a 1/2" stubby impact or a large breaker bar, as those mothers are on there nice and tight.
Thanks for the clarification, andym, about the bearings being sealed. I was going to put in a line about not being sure about a 2000's bearings, but didn't.... Sorry for that....
