I've got a 2000 SD250 CC SB 5.4. The other day I went to set the cruise and when I pushed the set button on the wheel, I heard a "POP" either in the dash or under the hood. The cruise went dead. Prior to this, I never had any issues with the cruise. I checked fuses and everything looked ok? Any suggestions on my problem or how to figure it out???
Thanks.
Steve
Anybody out there???? I posted this last year and no body replied? I still don't have an answer. Getting tired of driving with my foot on the gas all the time and to cheap to go to the stealer.
My fuse is good. I replaced the brake switch on the master cylinder with no luck. Whith the cruise turned on and moving down the road-when I push "set", the cruise light on the dash will flash and go out instantly. I can hear a "click" under the hood at the same moment, but cruise will not set???
Any suggestions on what the issue might be or how to diagnose it??
Is there a relay switch under there. If you heard a pop, but the fuse is good, that's the only thing I can think of. Trace your wires out of the fuse box, up to the column and see if there is a relay in there anywhere. Relays are cheap, unless you get the usual dealer MARKUP.
