Steering Column Length
Hi All - I have read and searched, with much enthusiasm, most of the threads regarding steering columns. I have even seen where one gent asked the question - "how long". Yet, in all of the replies, I have yet to see anyone mention the length of the unit.
Basically, all I need to know is - What is the stock length of a steering column in a '66 F100?

Hi Pops, I guess most of us use standard Ford columns, and you would have to have one out to be able to measure it, and I don't have one out just now.
We swap in the 73-79 stearing gear and column together, so there is nothing to measure.
Sorry this isn't much help, but you can always measure yours.

Had an extra that was able to take measurements from. Just the column, the shifting and directional signal colar not included, measures 30 1/2". Not sure if column measurements varies according to type of transmission, don't think so. These measurements were from column with 3 speed. Believe removed it from a 65.
