Expy Air Conditioner
My 03 has a bad (dead) smell on startup through the A/C vents. Smells moldy, and disapears after 5 minutes of run time. Tried all products to nuetralize with no luck. Any issues with these units?

It is mold. When using the A/C, do you use interior re-circulated air ("MAX A/C" position on my '02 XLT)? When you shut down the vehicle, do you leave the selector/setting in that max A/C position? If the answer is yes, then you are not venting the vehicle to outside air and the mold smell will NEVER go away. Your owner's manual (at least my '02 does) should address that condition. That condensation in the unvented hoses/ducts is a great breeding ground for funky, smelly bacteria on a hot humid day.
