Hey, new to the forums...Thought I should say hi and also ask a question for all the pro's out there. I have a 96 bronco, and I'm contemplating converting it's auto trans to the M5OD manual tranny. What should I expect? How would the on board "computer" react? What else would need to be install\replaced other than the stock transmission? What kind of cash would I be shelling out for such a thing? Any answers would be appreciated, and I look foward to contributing to the forums other than asking questions!
I'm afraid that I will not be of much help but have you considered the heavy duty ZF-5 speed found in F250/350s? Some people consider the M5OD to be too weak....but others like it. You will also have to lengthen the rear driveshaft and shorten the front.
