Again, a dumb questions... I have an automatic trans in my ’04 f150… is it necessary to put the parking brake? I usually park in places where the ground is a little slopey. This GIRL told me that it takes stress of the transmission. I usually don't put it on.

Reason: typo
I always use my parking brake also, it has saved me a couple of times when I have had to jump out and chase someone and come back to find the car in gear, being held only by the parking brake!
You Must Apply The Brake, Its A Good Habit. These Are My Steps...1-put In Neutral,w/ My Foot On The Brake Pedal...2-apply Brake...3-take You Foot Of The Pedal, this Way The Pressure Is On The Hand Brake...4-put In Parking.
It May Sound Like A Long Thing But Its Easy. Some People Will Apply The Brake W/ The Foot On The Brake, Put It Neutral And The Car/truck Will Hold On The Trans. Insted Of The Brake.
I always use mine... less stress for the transmission if parked on an incline, don't forget if I do park on an incline and... no seized parking brake when I do need to use it. All that not too mention safety.
It's an easy thing to get into, takes about 1 second to engage, and 1/2 a second to dis-engage.
Thanks for all your feedback... I've had my truck for 3 weeks and never really put it on. I remember a while back, my mom had her FORD AEROSTAR minivan parked in the driveway, put it in park (no brake) and went inside. When she looked out the door, the van was across the street... thank goodness no one got hurt but a mailbox. I'll start putting it on from now on.

Interesting. Guess I've been doing it way wrong for way too many years, thanks. Wow, many years!!!
