What does Ford do to certify that their dealers are upstanding and honest ? Do they do audits or anything for ongoing certifications ?
I'm lucky that I've got a number of dealers within driving distance so if I don't like whats going on I can get a second opinion easily. However not everyone has that option and if you get a dealer doing things poorly how is that issue resolved from within Ford.
Is there someplace you can take your grievances directly to Ford and bypass the dealer ?
Finally, how many people have had dealer problems that just couldn't be resolved ?
1. They don't do much as far as dealers go. Ford seems to allow them to cut their own throat. 2. There is a number in your book in the vehicle for customer assistance, it's usually in the rear I believe. 3. Most can be resolved, sorry to say not all of them do however.
You can increase the probability of finding a good dealership by looking for Blue Oval Certification. This certification can only be achieved automatically by high customer satisfaction via surveys sent out to the customers. Of course the number of people who return the surveys and answer all questions honestly will reflect the overall rating. A dealer must get all "recommended" ratings from a customer to recieve credit and must obtain a certain percentage of 100 percent satisfied from all those returning the surveys to be considered for Blue Oval. There are numerous other qualifications that are also required of them. Blue Oval Certification gives the dealer additional latitude in dealing with customer concerns as well without prior authorization.
Yes, blue oval is the one thing ford does that does allow for the public to find a reputable dealer. We are blue oval, and there are good requirements that do need to be met to be blue oval. It's a good program, So in that aspect, ford does that for the dealer. It does require the customers input as far as surveys go like HomerWinzlow says.
I for one don't really agree with the blue oval stuff,it dosen't rely on the techs for the input,as far as i know i've never seen a ford rep in the shop,it goes more towards sales in my opinion.
