94 ranger any idea?
Im thinking of buying a 94 ranger 2 wheel drive 4 cyl five speed, the engine has a dead cyl and supposidly a coil pack was changed and it didn't fix it I was just wondering if there are any reoccuring problems that someone might know about any help would be good also is there anything else on the truck that I need to check out before I would purchase it thank you very much

I would do a compression test on it to find out why that cyl is dead. I'd also check that cyl for spark, and pull codes. I'm not sure if it applies to the four cyl models, but the trannies on the 4.0L have some rubber shift rail plugs that like to fail and cause the tranny oil to leak, the result being a ruined tranny. Make sure there are no noises in the tranny (drive it), and ideally check the fluid level in it. These trucks are pretty tough and abuse resistant otherwise.
