i've got a 2001 F-350 7.3L PSD Turbo, whenever i start it up the rpms go from about 7 or 800 to about 1500 back and forth just reving. untill i tap the gas then this goes away. any ideas on what this is, i thought it might be IAC valve but not really sure.
This happenes to my truck once in awhile during the great Chicago winters. Only happenes when the truck doesnt want to start due to it being butt-*** cold outside.
im in florida and its about 90 degrees when i go to start it up and its about everytime, temperature doesnt really effect it. At night or during the day.
I know exactly what your talking about. My truck does the same thing but only when it is colder out say 45 degrees and less. It will only do it on initial strat up in the morning and will do it just for a few second. I have seen posts here in the past in regards to this and most say it really doesnt hurt anything. I will also say that I dont have any of this problem if it is plugged in.
