I'm new here (though I'm an older guy) and the new owner of a 1980 F 100 Custom SB w/300 CID 6 w/4 speed. I 'm looking at re-doing the stock rear suspension as the truck lists to the driver's side. Rebuilding the rear springs is costly. What would be the newest stock Ford truck suspension that fits this 1980 truck that I could find in at a wrecker. I'd appreciate any info on other stuff that fits like door panels, tailgate etc. from your collective experiences. I'm looking forward to being a member of this club and building this truck.
Hi Emgee good to see you found this site lots of good info here!
I have an old 82 f150 and intend to keep it going for a lonnngg time. I am always on the lookout for spare parts. All f150 parts up to the 94-95 droop snouts will work on your truck, 87 and up fenders require the newer grills and bumpers. the doors all fit yours . on the springs check hanger bolts center to center some short boxs used the shorter bronco springs but you can fit f150 springs in I did that on my wifes 80 broncette but thats an other story!
Thanks for the information 82 flatdeck. I've been to wreckers a few times looking for car parts and can't say I paid attention to trucks. Any yards generally better than others for truck parts? Buck's has a price list on their website.
Acron auto at the tracks and Day st has a couple late 80 to 90 f150 right now . If you need i have a decent endgate off a 90 also Mountainview has some f150 bodies.

St Vital mall..... long time ago...did a lot of work there when it was built..
Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to check these places out.I would like to check out the '90 gate. I'm not a purist —if it's "appropriate" appearance- wise it could work.

Reason: Forgot some info
FYI i just replaced the entire rear suspension/driveline on my 86 ranger with the rear suspension and everything from an explorer... i think the same holds true with bronco's and F150s. i got everything i needed at mountain view
I have a 1980 F-100 as well. I replaced the springs with a new pair with poly bushings from Neuls on Wall St. for about $400. I replaced the interior door panels with panels from a 96. I also replaced the front clip with a 96 that I got at Action auto parts for $300. A little fabrication was needed for the front fenders and door panels. Mine is a flairside so the bodylines of the box fenders look ok. Mine used to be a 300 6cyl, before the 460, so any questions, just ask.

The tailgate is off a 90 lariat as long as yours isn't a fenderside it should do the job. dark red in color.

Can you tell me what it looks like. I'm looking for a smooth one (don't know what year that would be) not one with the brushed stainless panel. How much would you want for it?
