Question Another trade-in question...

In general, is a truck worth more (to a dealer as a trade) in its stock form or with all sorts of goodies. More specifically, I'm trying to decide weather to take all of my audio/video (see my gallery) out and put it all back to stock, or leave it in and hope for a better deal. Again, this is for a trade, not selling to a private party. What do you think? Thanks.

Generally speaking, if you can restore the truck to stock WITHOUT IT BEING OBVIOUS THAT STUFF HAS BEEN REMOVED (eg, holes in the dash), then you're better off removing the "goodies." They add very little value for the dealer (at least not nearly what you have invested in them), and are worth a lot more to you. Some mods (lift kits, over-sized tires, "custom" paint, etc...) can actually decrease the value.
