I need a set of spindles for a '77 Ford 3/4ton Dana44 front end. I bought a set off of ebay but they are 1/4inch too long. The nut bottoms out on the threads before it reaches the bearing. Could the length difference be from the spindles being from a different year truck? My brother-n-law has a machine shop and is going to try to repair the old spindles but I'm not too sure how that'll end up . Does anyone know where I can get a set at an affordable price? I found some on a website for $150 brand new. That's more than I can spend right now and those spindles are the only thing keeping me from driving that truck. Thanks for any advice.
FordPerf300, Thanks!! I just talked to my brother-n-law, he has the spindles at his shop and will call me with the measurements tomorrow. I'll get 'em to ya as soon as I can. With the hurricane coming, I won't be able to do any work on the truck anyways. Besides that, I got to replace the water pump in my wife's ford. That explorer is a nightmare to work on yourself. You got to take half the engine apart just to get to the water pump. Thanks again. I'll be in touch.
