I ordered my 04 supercrew cab 4x4 in September. It was shipped here in December and has been a problem ever since! It has 8000 miles and is in the shop for the 6th time today. The latest is the steering wheel shake at 55-65mph. It makes for a horrible drive. This morning when I took it in for the 1st time for the shake the tech told me before he even looked at it that it couldn't be fixed! I threw a fit and spoke with the manager and he told me that they would look at it, however, Ford is currently working on this problem!
What can I do while they work on this issue? This is my first truck and the most I have ever paid for a vehical! Am I Just out of luck?
In 6 times for repair in just 8,000 miles....a vibration problem that can't be fixed....told to wait for Ford to come up with a fix....
I suggest you immediately file with the Dispute Settlement Board for a replacement truck or a refund. It's free and it's fair. You can get a DSB application via Ford's 1-800 number, via the DSB address in your warranty guide, or by doing a search here. Don't wait for Ford, as they will string your unhappiness along until it's too late. Been there done that.

I actually had to have it towed out of my driveway at 2000 miles because the shifter wouldn't move from park and they had to replace the entire shifting console.
The cruise control went out in it at 4200 miles.
I love the way the truck looks, however, I have had more problems with the truck and the techs at Ford. The list of cons is getting longer!
my 2004 f-150 crew cab 2wd has been in the shop once already since may and the dealer said if its been in the shop for the same reason 3 times to be fixed they will buy my truck back or trade for a 2004 or 2005 model because i own my truck.
My truck has the driveline vibration between 45 & 65 mph after 65mph the steering wheel has the nibble problem. Ford’s factory rep would not do anything about the driveline vibration; he claims that it’s normal. So I took my case to the DSB last week & got a letter today from the board. They want an independent party to inspect the truck and report the findings to them. After that I will have another opportunity to present my case before the DSB with the independent review of my truck. All my friends can feel the vibration and for $30,000 it should not vibrate. One friend wanted a Ford but he got an ugly Avalanche because of my problems. After 10 months the fight goes on…………
the guys at ford are stringing me a long... they have had my truck since monday and told me today that the problem is in hte tires.
What is htat about?
