lost power steering
I was out mudding in my 93 f150 and i got stuck i tried turning my tires back and forth to get moving again. When my power steering stoppped working, i got pulled out and when i filled the resevoir up again because it was bone dry i noticed it leaking out where the pitman arm connects to the box. All the fluid drips out in 5 or less minutes. i think i blew the seal out from trying to turn the tires when there was pressure on them from the mud. What do you guys think about this. And if it is the seal how hard is it to replace and what do i have to do.

I've had the same thing happen to me. It wasn't in a ford truck, but you can't buy parts for rebuilding power steering pumps. You'll probably need to buy a new power steering pump. That's what I ended up doing, 80 dollars, probably cheaper if it's a ford truck. Simple removal/installation. just be careful and follow the belt map when you put the accesory belt back on. If you can find a part, good luck, but I don't see that happening.

I lost my ps pump wheeling too. It was only 3 weeks old, how do you like that. I took it back and they replaced it. It works good now 4 weeks old. The other one was a whiner anyway. I'm happy now, works good and is quiet.
If I new I could pick up a new ps pump for 80 bones I would have done that instead of a frefurbished one for 45.
