Help needed. I have a 2000 Mazda/Ranger B3000 with only $16k miles (it's A/T, 4X2, 3.0L, Flex Fuel). I want to change out the DPFE sensor (I had the P0401 reading, etc.). Removing the mounting bolts and wiring harness is a no brainer but how to you remove the 2 rubber hoses?
nuyorican4u,
First if it only has 16k why are YOU replacing, its a warranty, or did you mean 116k?
Second, just pull on them. If its 116K, then the hoses will be somewhat "glued" to the sensor. Just pull real hard. Check the hoses also when you get them off and make sure they're not stopped up.
prcrboy,
Thanks for the response. That's no typo...I only have 16,600 miles on it but I was told it's no longer under warranty because the warranty is for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Since the truck is 4 years old I figured I was S.O.L. Is this not the case? Note: I spoke with a Mazda dealership about my problem and they didn't mention anything about it being covered under warranty. I tried calling the Ford Dealership to see if it was covered, but the foreman wouldn't call me back.
